In the spring of 2003, some 5,000 area residents attended a Union Hospital open house, held to showcase our latest achievement - an $18 million project encompassing our new 3-story Boulevard South Addition as well as an enlarged and enhanced Emergency Department.
These projects were funded with local contributions as well as public bond monies, recognizing the fact that Union Hospital is, indeed, the center of health care for the region's nearly 100,000 residents.
The projects, resulting from our continuing growth in both outpatient and inpatient services, follow a series of major renovations and expansions in recent years to create state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic facilities.
Meanwhile, to accommodate the specific needs of our active medical staff, the hospital recently completed a third medical office building on our 25-acre campus.
These programs continue our commitment to excellence, which we trace back to our founding in 1906. Our pledge is to "build a more perfect Union," providing the equipment and facilities to meet the area's growing needs and meet or exceed the highest standards for community hospitals anywhere.
